It’s that time of year when we’re all thinking about what to gift to the ones we love. For those of us in the knitting/crochet world, this usually takes one of two forms: making gifts to give and finding gifts for the makers on our lists.

Not sure what to gift the knitter or crocheter on your list? Here are some ideas.

1. Unique tools

Every knitting or crochet enthusiast loves special and unique tools. Some great options include stitch markers, progress keepers, or needle stoppers. You’ll find lots of great small business artists who make seasonal, unique tools, and toolsets. You can find everything from sweet to quirky; there’s sure to be something just right for the crafter on your list. Don’t forget storage when you’re thinking of unique gifts. Needle wraps, project bags, and yarn bowls all make great options, too.

2. A special yarn

Everyone loves a gift of yarn. Now, preferences in yarn can be quite personal. If you’re confident in your sense of your giftee’s style, try finding a skein by a new dyer they haven’t tried before. Maybe you’ll spark a new connection! If you’re a little less sure of their preferences, look for yarn shops that offer gift cards. Does your special someone love variety? Consider gifting a mini skein advent calendar, which includes a set of differently-coloured small skeins of yarn.

3. Pattern subscription

Have you considered gifting a pattern subscription? These deliver a set number of patterns over a period of time. It’s a little bit of inspiration delivered regularly to their inbox! Pattern subscriptions are a great way to introduce your special someone to new designers, techniques, or styles they might not have previously tried. And bonus – it’s a gift that keeps on giving!

With a little creative thinking, you can find something unique and personal for the special crafters on your list. Of course, the thing they’ll love best is knowing it comes from you!

Check out our stitch markers, yarn, and pattern subscriptions if you’re looking for inspiration.
